Shaun Goulbourne is the boy’s director of SKY soccer club. He is one of few “A” licensed coaches by the United States Soccer Federation in Kentucky.

He is coach for the Olympic Development program for KY and the
Midwest region.

Shaun has a strong background in sports physical therapy and strength and conditioning.

Shaun Goulbourne and a licensed staff have developed a multifaceted program to maximize your ability to develop as a soccer player. The
program is designed to compliment your recreational, high school, and competitive teams with emphasis on improving the individual,
technical, tactical, psychological, and physical components of the game.

Cristin Allen (formerly Czubik) comes to the SKY Soccer Program from Nashville, TN after spending five years as an Assistant Coach for the Vanderbilt University Women's Soccer Team.  Allen helped coach numerous players to All SEC Teams, as well as helping the team advance twice to the NCAA Tournament.

Allen graduated from Belmont University, earning her undergraduate degree in English.  In her four years playing soccer for the Belmont Bruins, she was team captain, Athletic and Academic All Conference, and currently holds the record for Total Points in a Career and Most Assists in a Season.

After her playing career at Belmont, she coached at various local high schools and club programs in and around the Nashville area and is currently a Tennessee ODP staff coach.  With her most recent club, Brentwood Soccer Club, she lead the '93 Girls team to three State  Championships, two Region Premier League titles, and guided her team to the Regional quarter-finals in all three years as their coach.  Allen also received the Brentwood Coach of the Year, as well as the Tennessee Competitive Coach of the year in 2009.  Many players from the '93 Brentwood team are either currently playing college Soccer, or have already committed to schools such as Michigan, Baylor, Belmont, and UT Martin for the 2011 fall season.

Cristin is the Girls' Director of Coaching, as well as the Recreational Director of Coaching.  Please feel free to contact her at the SKY Office, or contact him via email for any questions or comments you may have.

The Technical Training Sessions

During these sessions we work on 20-30 dribbling moves to beat an opponent, turn out of trouble, and unbalance
defenders. We will also work on passing and receiving on the ground and in the air, and ending with finishing/shooting on goal.

Training sessions will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm to 8:45pm. Within each sessions, groups will be devided into
beginners, intermediates, and elite to maximize learning.

The elite training group will have the opportunity to travel in the summer and winter periods.

Use the sessions to prepare for your recreational, middle school, high school, and competitive soccer season.

These sessions will continue all year with the opportunity to sign up each month. Maintain your individual ability even when you return to your team and

Now that a new year is upon us we are given an opportunity to start it out right.  The weather is getting colder and the holiday meals may have added to your waistline.  Wallets may be a little lighter but the cost of fitness is cheaper than replacing wardrobes and frequenting the doctor’s office.  Exercise is a great way to escape daily stresses and get more fit for a healthier new year. A healthier new you!

If you have exercised in the recent past (or have not exercised in a long time) and have taken “some time off,” here are some pointers to help make this year’s fitness program less painful in the beginning stages.

  1. Make sure to perform “warm-up” exercises for about 10 minutes, such as stationary biking, elliptical machine, or walking on the treadmill.
  2. Now it’s time to gently stretch.  Try to  hold a gently stretching position for about 40 seconds and do not bounce.  Stretch the larger and smaller body muscles.
  3. Resisted training is next.  Start with about 4-5 sets of exercises that allow you to complete each set with good form and slow speeds.  Go with a lighter weight for the first 3-4 weeks and try to complete 6-8 repetitions per set on all exercises.  Do not rush through this phase as it will help prepare your muscles and tendons and limit the risk of being “too sore to work out.”
  4. Now you need a “cool down” phase.  Return to the bike or treadmill for about 10 minutes.  Drink small amounts frequently throughout the workout and avoid large drinks immediately after your workout.  Why not try a protein shake?

Total Fitness Connection is here to help fulfill all of your fitness needs and desires.  Our facilities are equipped with personal trainers, sports enhancement professionals, nutrition centers and physical therapists that work tirelessly to help you meet your goals.  Do you have a 20-30-40-50 year class reunion this summer?  Do you want jaw-dropping results? Let’s create a healthier new you and fill this year with timeless memories.
